For Some people, taking raw egg is just to spoil their day, forgetting the amazing health benefits gotten from it, even more than cooked one. Eating raw eggs, raises concerns about the risk of Salmonella Infection. Also your absorption of some nutrients may be reduced or even blocked completely. They (raw eggs) are rich in high quality protein, healthy fats,vitamins and minerals.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, raw eggs can include salmonella, a germ that can cause diarrhea, vomiting, fever, and abdominal cramps for four to seven days. The risk of contacting Salmonella infection through raw egg has been the main challenge and fear in drinking raw egg. But According to the American Egg Board (via SFGate), only about one in 20,000 eggs has salmonella in it, meaning that you could drink five raw eggs a day for over ten years before you get to an infected one. Making the possibility of contacting Salmonella infection through raw egg very low.
But that doesn’t mean everyone should drink any raw egg, no matter the condition. Before drinking any raw egg, one must make sure it is not spoilt.
And to avoid making your raw egg harmful to the body, you must adhere to the following:
- Keeping your eggs refrigerated at 40 degrees Fahrenheit or colder to ensure they don’t spoil.
- Using pasteurized eggs if you’re planning to consume them raw.
What Happens to your Body When you Drink Raw Egg Everyday?
1. HIGH IN VITAMIN AND PROTEIN:
Each raw egg contains about 6 grams of protein, 1 gram of carbohydrate and a recommended daily value of Vitamin B12, 15% of recommended daily value of Vitamin D and E, 15% of daily Folate and Riboflavin and 10% of Vitamin A. Raw Egg is also a training supplement for body or muscle building which is the effect of the presence of protein and vitamin in it.
2. BOOSTS GOOD CHOLESTEROL IN THE BODY:
Wondering the type of cholesterol that is good, there are two different kinds of cholesterol which are High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) and Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL). While LDL can be extremely harmful to the body muscles and heart in particular, HDL is something the body needs in high quantity for body enhancement.

Also, studies have it that the high content of selenium at about 15.5 micrograms in a raw egg, helps in improving fertility and Vitamin B12.
5. GIVES MORE ENERGY TO THE BODY:
The high content of protein and vitamins in raw egg, makes it a good source of more energy and strength.
6. IMPROVES VOCAL ABILITY:
There have been many controversies surrounding drinking raw egg for better vocality, but it would be better to get it right this time. Of course, many would advise against drinking raw egg for angelic voice just because of the risk of Salmonella infection. But that is if you do not keep your raw egg refrigerated or pasteurized. The Protein (amino acid N-acetyl cysteine) in raw eggs clear the toxins in the vocal cords and thus provide a clear voice. Drink your raw egg healthy and see your voice improve.
Some of the above benefits also applies to cooked egg, but it’s of no doubt that cooked egg has more health benefits than raw eggs.
